Two-Vehicle Car Accident in San Luis Obispo Injures Six
A two-vehicle crash on the night of October 9 left six people hospitalized in San Luis Obispo. The collision happened at Foothill Blvd. and Ferrini Rd. at 10:30pm; the same place where a bicyclist was killed earlier this year.
The patients were transported to the hospital with varying degrees of injury. One victim suffered serious injuries, one suffered minor injuries and the rest suffered moderate injuries.
It is currently unknown exactly what circumstances led to the accident. Police have stated that they believe the driver of one vehicle, a Mini Cooper, made an illegal U-turn. However, the driver of the other vehicle, a Lexus, may have been speeding, contributing to the severity of injuries. Alcohol is not thought to have been involved. All lanes of Foothill were blocked for a significant period as police and firefighters investigated the accident.
