{"id":176097,"date":"2017-08-31T18:11:37","date_gmt":"2017-08-31T18:11:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jamesmckiernanlawyers.com\/?p=176097"},"modified":"2022-12-19T12:05:08","modified_gmt":"2022-12-19T12:05:08","slug":"deadly-crash-highway-101-cuesta-grade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jamesmckiernanlawyers.com\/en\/blog\/deadly-crash-highway-101-cuesta-grade\/","title":{"rendered":"Deadly Crash on Highway 101 at Cuesta Grade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif; color: #3e3e3e; font-size: medium;\">A Fresno teen is under arrest for DUI in connection with a deadly crash on Highway 101 that closed down the Cuesta Grade Tuesday night and killed two of his passengers, according to the California Highway Patrol.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #3e3e3e;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\">Emergency crews responded to the scene in the southbound lanes, south of TV Tower Road, shortly before 11:00 p.m.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #3e3e3e;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\">Officers say the driver, identified as Robert Dave Jones II, 19, of Fresno, was driving &#8220;at a high rate of speed&#8221; when he turned the car to the right, causing it to go up a steep embankment before heading back onto the road where it crashed into the center divider.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #3e3e3e;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\">The two back seat passengers, identified as Cody James Wiebers, 21, and Jubalee Stoney Jones, 20,\u00a0both from Fresno, were ejected and died at the scene, according to CHP. Officers say neither were\u00a0wearing a seatbelt.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #3e3e3e;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\">The passenger in the front seat, identified as Cynthia Rendon, 20, also of Fresno, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries but has since been released.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #3e3e3e;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\">CHP says the crash was caused by Jones&#8217; intoxication.
